The Jompson Brothers

image: ben sollee

The Jompson Brothers Band has been described something like a blues-rock and Southern revivalist rock band. Made up of Chris Stapleton - vocals, guitar, Bard McNamee – drums, Greg Mckee – guitar, and J.T. Cure – bass.

Stapleton is from the SteelDrivers (Clack Mountain Festival 2007), a Grammy-nominated Bluegrass band.

J.T. Cure is local, formerly of Morehead and a Morehead State alum, but originally from Elkhorn City, Ky.

The band’s home base is in Nashville, where they let their guitars scream, toes tap and drums blast. Inspired by everything from AC/DC and Led Zeppelin to Paula Abdul (according to MySpace), the best way to describe them is, “born in the garage, built for the arena.”
